Wii Fit availability in Canada - new Google gadget

Wii Fit rush coming to Canada. If you are looking for one (pre-order for now) then my new Google gadget can help you save some time.
For now it checks Wii Fit status at Amazon, BestBuy, Costco, Futureshop, Toys'R Us, but I'll add more stores as soon as somebody reports a new store with Wii Fit.

Your feedback is always welcomed!

Seems to be a bug - shows in stock at TRU, but they are OOS

This is great, do you have an RSS feed one as well?

Its now reporting that sourcecc has stock, but it says "Product not orderable from the web." on the site.

Thanks for the Wii Fit sniper. Could you possibly sort the results? It would make it easier to read.

Currently they appear in random order and the Dell bundle which is in stock moves around which ocassionally trips me out ;).

Thank you very much for this widget. I put it on my iGoogle page last night. This evening I turned on my computer, noticed Toys R Us had an In Stock link, and used it. I got it for $89.99 plus $5 shipping and the usual taxes -- best prices I'd seen so far. It's now back-ordered (fine by me, I'm in no rush -- and at least Toys R Us *lets* you back order!).

Great idea, and a great service. Now that I've seen this in action I want to learn more about XML.

Thanks again.

Awesome tool! Is there anyway you can make it play a sound when a new store has availability (like the Wii checker does)? This would make it very convenient to leave in the background as I work.

Hi James,

Thank you for you feedback! The notification sound will be active in few hours in version 0.23 of the gadget. If somebody don't like notification sound and has an iGoogle account, then it can be disabled in the gadget properties.

Hi Transient,

Thank you for your suggestion! Could you please clarify in which order you'd like to sort results?

wiisniper said...

Hi Sean,

Thank you for notifing about this issue! The sourcecc reporting was fixed.

Hi sharkyincanada,

The issue with TRU was fixed. Thank you for reporting it!

Hi Wiisniper,

I meant to sort the stores alphabetically by name. I'm not sure what other way you could sort it? lol ;)

Thanks!

wiisniper said...

Hi Transient,

Thank you for your reply! Here some sorting options, that come to my mind:
1) availability
2) popularity
3) price
4) combination of 1, 2, 3 and alphabetically

Regards

Wiisniper,

Ahh, I understand. Well I'd be happy with just alphabetical, but the other methods would be good options as well! Maybe you could add them to the gadget settings?

Thanks!

Thanks a lot! I got one from from Future Shop.

Hey there nice tool, I was on The Source CC website just now and theres a new bundle they offer. It includes Wii Fit and We Ski for $129.97. Would ie be possible to add it to the list?

wiisniper said...

Thank you for your tip on bundle at The Source CC! I've added it to the gadget.

Nice tool. FYI, it is showing that Sears has stock, but checking the Sears website shows it as out of stock. Not sure if this is a bug.

Thanks for the tool, very handy.

Hi David,

Thank you for your comment. I've just checked sears.ca and I was able to add Wii Fit to the shopping basket. So it is in stock and gadget reports it properly.

davidm said...

You can add it to the basket, but then it won't let you check out as the item is unavailable. Also, once in the basket, if you hit edit basket, then hit check availability, it will say item is unavailable.

wiisniper said...

Hi David,
Thank you for reply! I think the best course of action is to call sears.ca at 1-800-26-SEARS and ask them to fix the issue. They shouldn't allow to add an item to basket in first place.

I can remove sears.ca from the gadget until this issue is fixed by sears.ca.

Goddamn, please fix the damn Costco and Sears links

wiisniper said...

T., Could you please explain what needs to be fixed with Sears and Costco links?

jgao said...

Problem with costco:
1. Costco no. 1 shows "in stock" but after following the link costco.ca page shows "out of stock".
2. When Costco II shows "in stock", the link will lead to a page on costco.ca saying the item is invalid. Changing the URL from costco.ca to costco.com will lead to a Wii Fit page on the US costco web page but still out of stock

wiisniper said...

Hi Jie,

Thank you for reporting this issue.
I've just fixed it. Please let me know if you see it again.

Victor said...

Thanks for the tool. Still waiting for IN STOCK though. Anyone ordered from DVDBOXOFFICE before?

wiisniper said...

Hi Victor,

I didn't hear any complaints related to DVDBOXOFFICE other then shipping costs too high.
Right now Costco has it in stock as well.

Looks like it's triggering a false positive on Amazon.ca. All the wii fit units for sale there are used and or from third parties and not available directly from Amazon.

Unknown said...

And looks like the false positive on Amazon.ca is gone. But there was a used listing before that is gone now so if another used one pops up it may trigger again.

It probably shouldn't do that. I think people want to buy direct from Amazon and not a third party.

wiisniper said...

Hi QueBall,

I saw this issue with Amazon for a day or two and now it is gone. I think Amazon have fixed the issue.

Matt said...

Seems like something is wrong with all of the "in stock" Dell.ca links... it just takes me to a generic Dell page. And they're out of stock.

Unknown said...

It is very hard to find Wii Fit in Stock; it increases Wii Fit Availability in the stores. Hope Wii Fit will be available in future.Let's check http://wiifitavailability.weebly.com/blog.html

wesbos said...

why is ecost.com on there when it only ships to the states?

wiisniper said...

eCost ships to Canada according to their site https://www.ecost.com/ecost/shop/showcase/international/ . Please let me know if it is not the case.

Steven said...

Dell keeps sending back false positives... the link displayed brings you to the main dell.ca page, and a search for "wii fit" only brings up wii fit accessories..

wiisniper said...

Hi Steven H.,

Thank you for reporting this issue!
It possible, that Wii Fit just run out of stock at Dell.ca not long ago.
There are some technical limitations with Google gadget cache mechanism which prevents "true real-time" status reporting.
